I am also investigating the possibility of adding password protection to student videos. This is what the strange password protection page is - I am testing it out. This is what I think so far

Advantages
Increased security
If you forget the password for your area you could email me - so it would be quite simple to manage

Disadvantages
For the comments to work everyone will need their own individual page. It may then be harder to see other people's videos which is part of the fun of the blog
The only way round this is to make the password something obvious which may mitigate against any enhanced security

A possible compromise is for you to decide yourself. I will give every student their own page and if you additionally want it password protected let me know. It is then up to you who you tell your password to but you will have to tell me! It may be nice to swap passwords amongst students, including any new students.

Actually the best source for technical information about the blog is the wordpress help pages. I have edited this page and will keep doing so as I find out more. The blog is now listed on google - a lot quicker than I expected. This does mean that if you forget the blog address which is a bit long you will at least find it quickly through a search under my name and either "music" or "piano".

If you want a demonstration on how the blog works ask me for one at your lesson.
